Do you like this?

Elder

Recently one of our readers emailed us and asked for our help. He has had a problem dealing with unreliable service and repair people for the elderly.

We felt compelled to reach out to our readers just as Jack did to us, in hopes that somewhere out there, the right people would come across this site and see this plea for help.

We are asking for people who are available in the Fall River area who are able to provide a reliable service that is vetted that can help these elderly folk whom deserve good service.

Here is Mr. LaFlamme asking the community, all of you out there who are able to help:

"Elders want to stay in their own homes.  Some of us become disabled or weak in some way or other.  My concern is finding vetted handymen with experience in small things, repairs (electrical, plumbing, tile work, replacing a high-up light bulb, etc.) become problems so is installing/taking down seasonal portable window air conditioners to name a few.  There is also snow removal. These are jobs that need to be done in and out of a home.  We are talking work that basically should take less than eight hours. In some larger communities such as such as "'the Village model" they have  networks of dependable workers who provide these elder services for a reasonable fee.

What do seniors have in Fall River?

A nasty experience with a so-called landscaping contractor has cost me plenty.  It seems to me that The Insider is out to help area individuals, young and old.  Fall River being an heterogeneous community, it can become extremely difficult to find someone honest, able, and dependable to perform these services/jobs for us for a fee (by the year, or by the job).  I am not taking about building, electrical, plumbing contractors who are hired for new and major or big jobs.

Hoping for a positive reply.

Your magazine has many connections, I imagine someone, somewhere there is an answer." -Jack LaFlamme

Look for this issue in the upcoming Prime Times publication, and stay tuned to our ongoing topic of helping others, especially our vulnerable and elderly folk.
