THE ANDREA RIZZO FOUNDATION'S 11TH ANNUAL WALK FOR THE CHILDREN
Along the beautiful Newport Cliff Walk to benefit children with cancer and special needs
On Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 2:30pm The Andréa Rizzo Foundation holds the 11th Annual Walk for the Children & Dance Celebration to benefit the Dréa’s Dream dance therapy program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and local public schools. The Drea’s Dream program provides dance therapy to children with cancer and special needs. The event will start and finish at Rodgers Recreation Center at Salve Regina University in Newport, RI.
This 2 mile scenic walk-a-thon along Narragansett Bay is a FREE FAMILY EVENT featuring door prizes, raffles, Kid Zone, FREE refreshments and performances by local dance companies. No pre-registration is required. Just come and join us for a great day!
All walkers receive Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s of Thames Street., Newport, RI.
FORM A TEAM to walk in support of your favorite charity or organization or in memory/support of a loved one. Each walker who collects $30 or more in donations receives a free T-shirt. The team that raises the most will win a $500 award to donate to their favorite children's charity.
About The Andrea Rizzo Foundation: Andréa Rizzo, a former Ashaway School teacher and Narragansett Elementary Special Education teacher, Salve Regina University graduate and childhood cancer survivor was killed at the age of 24 by a drunk driver in 2002. Andréa was a lifelong dancer and had begun her graduate studies in dance therapy in hopes of helping children with cancer and special needs through her own love of dance.
