Summer-time brings outdoor acoustic music concerts to Soule Homestead.
Seven Saturday evening concerts are scheduled over the months of June, July and August. All shows start at 6 p.m., rain or shine, and are held outside on the lawn to the right of the classroom building (concerts will move indoors in case of bad weather).
Everyone is invited to bring personal chairs (or use the Homestead’s) and a picnic dinner; drinks and snacks will be available for sale. Admission is $10 for adults; $8 for seniors and students; $5 for open mic performers (6/29 only); Children under age 12 are free.
For the opening concert on Saturday, June, 29, the feature performer will be Riley Coyote, with the annual Joe Davies Memorial Open Mic starting off the evening. Open mic sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m. with a random draw for order of performance at 5:45 p.m. Only six eight-minute open mic slots are available. At the end of the show, one open mic winner will be selected to perform at the Joe Davies Folk Festival in September.
The concert series continues on Saturday, July 13 with feature performer Carolann Solebello and opener Chief Noda. Five more shows are scheduled for July 20 and 27 and August 3, 10 and 17.
