The K-Rob Family Fun Festival on May 20. The day begins with a 4 mile Ride/Skate/Run/Walk from Pierce Field along the East Bay Bike Path, ending at the historic Carousel. The Family Fun Festival is free and open to everyone until 5pm. Activities include a football skills combine with Jamie Silva, gymnastics, karate and BMX demos, a rock climbing wall, vendors and live music.
This year’s Festival is especially important in raising awareness for local children’s sports after the recent cutting of athletic programs from middle schools in East Providence.
The K-Rob Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit to help keep the children of East Providence (K-Rob’s hometown) and the surrounding communities involved in sports. In the one and a half years they’ve been up and running, the foundation has given back over $40,000 to local children to get them involved in football, baseball, wrestling, soccer, karate, BMX and skateboarding. The foundation also organized fun, family-friendly events for the people of East Providence. For more information, please visit krobfoundation.com
