Hollywood comes east as ‘Fall River Celebrates the Arts’ beckons you to enjoy an afternoon of festivities in the newly renovated (air conditioned) BMC Durfee High School’s Nagle Auditorium on Saturday July 28, 2012. This event is proud to present the screening of a new, fast paced, horror thriller "Jonah Lives", written and directed by Fall River native, Luis Carvalho. This film was shot on location in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Preceding the much anticipated screening of this movie will be an afternoon filled with an exciting lineup of free workshops and entertainment supported by local talent including comedy, dance, artisans, and musicians. FREE entertainment to the community will be provided beginning at 2PM.
The Red Carpet Gala Event begins at 5:30PM featuring the cast from ‘Jonah Lives’ along with celebrity guests including Hollywood Special FX Make-up Artist Ben Bornstein, Arthur Wahlberg, Hollywood Scream Queen, Brinke Stevens, legendary, veteran Actor, John Amos and Fall River’s own Tyler Bowe who’s been seen on Murphy Brown and West Wing.
Continuing into early evening is the Red Carpet Gala. You won't want to miss this exciting display of Hollywood style, glitz and glamour of the Red Carpet Walk. Celebrity guest stars are expected to make their grand appearances commencing at 5:30 PM. Be sure to arrive early to have an opportunity for a photo-op as well as acquiring a great seat for the show.
The evening’s celebration continues on into the night with a VIP Black Tie Affair at the newly renovated Beacon Light Tavern (formerly known as Oliver’s). Mingle with the cast, crew and celebrity guests from 10PM to 1AM with cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres while seizing the moment of this magnificent event with worthy causes.
