Wednesday evening April 18 from 7:00-8:30 PM. The 2nd lecture session is a continuation of
April 11 titled" Mexico and the Avant-garde". This lecture series will examine Mexican art
from the 1890's-1940's covering how some of Mexico's most influential artists.
were influenced by the European artistic movements and examining the impact
of Mexican art on the United States. The lecturer is Madeline Ruiz, a teacher
of Art History at CCRI in Newport. The 2 sessions will be held at the Portsmouth
Arts Guild Center for the Arts @ 2679 East Main Road, Portsmouth, R.I. The
Guild's exhibit "Imagine Blue" will be on display and light refreshments will be
provided in the Gallery. Cost is $7.50 per session for PAG Members,$10 for
