SUNDAY, MARCH 18TH • 4:00 PM • MUSIC IN THE PARLORS “HARP THROUGH THE AGES” WITH CARRIE KOURKOUMELIS
Nationally acclaimed harpist Carrie Kourkoumelis will present a program of beautiful music written or transcribed for the modern concert grand harp. In her presentation, she will speak about her French Empire style Swanson semi-gilded harp, which she notes, would have made it suitably regal for 19th century parlor performances of grand homes such as the Rotch-Jones-Duff House. Ms. Kourkoumelis has premiered many new works and played under Leonard Bernstein, Maurice Abravanel, and Gunther Schuller. She has appeared in concert with Jane Bryden, Leonard Rose, Eileen Farrell, D’Anna Fortunato, Chet Atkins, Liza Minnelli, Dudley Moore, Ray Charles, and Ben Vereen. Tickets are $25.
