The Friends of the Dighton Public Library are hosting the town’s first Taste of Dighton at the Dighton Pavilion, located on Route 138 behind Dighton Town Hall. This is an opportunity to taste samples from some of Dighton’s culinary talent, including well-known favorites such as Brian Stone from Alice’s Last Stop, and newer soon-to-be favorites, like Anne Marie Torres, owner of Sweet as Pie in Somerset.
Participants can buy 20 tickets for $10.00. These tickets entitle eaters a chance to sample different foods featured in the taste. Food samples range in “price” between one and three tickets. Vouchers are available in advance at the Library, or tickets can be purchased at the Pavilion the night of the event. Some of the anticipated treats will include Portuguese mix, chowder, ice cream, stuffed quahogs, hot dogs, meat pies and other items, for eaters of all ages.
In addition to the food, there will be gift basket raffles and entertainment provided by local musicians. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Dighton Public Library through the Friends of the Dighton Public Library.
